TV - Week 13

Today was the live show. We had a few practice run throughs before hand but advised everyone that the more run throughs we did would mean that the live show would't be as authentic or as good as we wanted it to be. There was almost no conflict today and we managed to get it done in one take which 99% of the whole team was really happy with. Apart from a couple of minor errors the show turned out to be really good and we were all happy to call it a day with the first take.

TV - Week 12

This week was again just run throughs except we wanted to make a few changes. This didn't go as well as it should have done as there was conflict with the sound team about the fact that the captains and the presenter felt that one of the rounds on the show wasn't working. After a heated discussion between us we finally managed to change the round to one that made us feel more comfortable doing on the show and also that was better than the original idea.
However, even then it still hadn't been sorted out as due to lack of communication from the production room to the studio, the idea had been changed and we were unsure of what we were supposed to be doing. After yet another discussion with the sound team, we the captains, presenter and the producer finally came to an agreement on the final round which was the best idea out of all 3 and worked the best.
Due to the lack of communication of the production side, a lot of the time those in the studio who didn't have headphones or means to hear what was going on in the production room, there was a lot of confusion about what was happening most of the time even if we asked what was going on. After each run through the producer would come through and talk to us about what was good and what was bad which was extremely helpful. We were able to put new ideas across and change parts that didn't suit the show to make it better.

TV - Week 11

This week we went for a run through of the show which went well considering how unorganised and what lack of communication between the production team and the crew there was. Initially the idea was to have an autocue for us to read from however after much deliberation we managed to get rid of the autocue and the captains and the presenter decided to just memorise the scripted parts of what we were going to say. However as it was meant to be a live show called bandta there need to be banter in the show and reading from a memorised script or from an autocue wouldn't create the right tone on camera so we managed to agree that we would only loosely read from a script and the rest would just come naturally during the recording.

TV - Week 10

We had just been on a break for 3 weeks due to it being the Easter holidays. During that time a group inbox was created within the TV group so that we could all communicate with each other whilst we weren't at uni. As one of the people who went home for the holidays, I wasn't able to attend any of the sessions that had been organised by our group which was unfortunate due to the fact that I was both on the show and part of writing it.
Once we got back, those who had stayed over the holidays had managed to record two songs from a band that was going to feature in the show. However, we also discovered that the script had been written too even though me and the other team captain and the presenter had to be involved with that too.

TV - Week 9

Luckily I didn't miss much after missing the week before. I found out what the idea for the tv show was which was a music quiz type of show, much like Never Mind the Buzzcocks. This was good as for the radio show we had done a music based show which meant that it was similar. This session we picked roles for people and I didn't know what I wanted to do prior to this. I had interests in being part of the editing team however as it was a live production, the editing is different to what I am used to doing. I also was interested in being part of the production team however all of those roles were taken up fast. It wasn't until Lianne suggested that her and I become the team captains and are actually in front of the camera that I even considered being on the show. As it turned out, it wasn't enough for us just to be on the show so we had to be involved with the writing of the show and contributing ideas and work with the director and writer. This was good because that meant that I was able to be involved in the production of the show.

Radio - Week 7

This week was the week that we did the live show. Although I wasn't on air I was still nervous about doing it. Our presenter was nervous to start off with but after a few minutes the show was going well and all our timings were correct. As it got to the end of the show, it appeared we had 1 minute left and so managed to fill it with live talk which meant that the whole show was a success.
